William G. Davis Junior Public School, actually.
When the school opened in 1967, its namesake was Ontario's Minister of Education; he later served as Premier of Ontario from 1971-1985.
Oh, and back then, it was within the Township of Pickering. There's still a plaque here denoting that.

Since its opening in 1967, this station has been part of three different municipalities: Pickering (1967-1973; Port Union was its western boundary back then), Scarborough (1974-1997), and Toronto (1998-present).
The parking lot to the north is also for this station.

The only three Bloor-Danforth stations that do NOT exit onto the street they're named after: this one, Kipling, and Kennedy.
At least the equally confusingly named Greenwood Race Track isn't around anymore...

Historical note: although the bus terminal never moved since the station opened in 1974, it only became part of the station's fare-paid area in 2002, a few months before the Sheppard line opened. Those barriers at the Harlandale entrance weren't originally there...

In the TTC subway system, stairs, escalators, doors, etc. here are labeled "23Y," whereas those at Sheppard are "21Y," and at Finch they're "22Y." That's because those stations opened first.

No kidding - a walk from the Hilda end of the west parking lot to the Willowdale end of the east parking lot is nearly a mile.

Brampton Transit hasn't gone here since fall 2010 (when Züm launched); this terminal will be relieved further when the Vaughan subway extension opens in 2015.

A former Simpsons, and IIRC you can still make out the "Simpsons" outline here; the exterior colour scheme never changed.

Can't really call it a neighbourhood... there are no homes inside the Peanut.
It's more accurately a hub for the Don Valley Village neighbourhood (Finch-404-Sheppard-Leslie), including a church, a junior high school, a secondary school, a community centre, a park, and a plaza.

Yes, the Dominion at the south end of Bridlewood Mall (now Metro) was there back then, too (and actually predates this one).

Actually the beltline path extends further west. It follows Roselawn for about 300 meters, then you must cut between two buildings, going south, then it picks up again as a path/trail and ends just past Caledonia. I've travelled the length of it on my ebike and it's very nice. Good for strolling, biking, dog walking...
