I hate that shuttle bus. You can walk to Leslie (or even Bessarion) station faster. Not as much as I hate IKEA though...

This school looks good. I have done extensive research on the school and it is seems great. The description doesn't help promote the school, though. :P

  • Morningside Crossing, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
The old Morningside Mall was used in filming the 1990s TV series "Ready or Not."

Also the namesake of its neighbourhood, bordered by Ellesmere, Kennedy, Lawrence and Birchmount.
  • Jack Astor's, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Also notorious for its sign... at night, only "JACK AS S" is lit up.
  • Fitness Factory, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Anyone know who's been hacking in and changing the names of these places? (In case it's been fixed by the time you read this, it was called "Runny Rectum Factory" when I typed this.)
  • Esso Station, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
There is indeed a Tim Hortons here.

  • Islington Station (TTC), KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
With connections to three TTC bus routes and 18 Mississauga Transit bus routes
  • Spadina Station, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Until 2004, the "long walkway" in the description featured a movator commonly known as "the moving sidewalk." I miss that (walking along the movator got you from one end to the other in no time). Now it's just a long empty hallway. Also of note is that all of the Station & Vicinity maps here are badly out of date, showing the long-gone 77 Spadina bus. Yes, even the ones at the streetcar platform (the streetcar replaced the bus route in 1997) and the Walmer Road exit (which didn't open until 2001). An even older map from the late 80s can be seen at the Kendal Avenue exit.
  • Tim Hortons, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
This was a Burger King until May 2003.
  • Baby Point, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
    "Baby" is pronounced like "bobby"
  • Bus Terminus, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Previously served as a terminus for the Dundas streetcar (until 1968) and the Junction trolley bus (the first trolley bus route in the TTC's elimination of their service, in 1991).
  • Canadian Tire Gas Bar, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Like many Canadian Tire gas bar sites, a Canadian Tire store existed here until it moved up the street...
  • Ferranti-Packard (closed), KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Now the TTC's Mount Dennis bus garage

The Toronto Huskies were a team in the Basketball Association of America (BAA), not the ABA (the American Basketball Association, another basketball organization that existed from 1967 to 1976 before merging with the NBA). The NBA was founded in 1949 after the merger of the BAA and the NBL (National Basketball League). The Raptors also played a few games here from their inaugural season in 1995-96 until Air Canada Centre opened. I remember going here to watch them beat the Philadelphia 76ers 117-105 on March 18, 1997 (Allen Iverson's rookie year) when I was 8 years old. MLG also played home for select Buffalo Braves (now the Los Angeles Clippers) NBA games back in the 70s.
  • Don Mills Public Library, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
An easy address to remember: 888 Lawrence Avenue East.
  • The Shops at Don Mills, KennedyParkGuy (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
I assume the title's changed but the description hasn't... Don Mills Centre closed in 2006, then the area got redeveloped into Shops at Don Mills, which opened in 2009.
