The Pizza Hut was torn down a year ago. This place should be taken down.

Actually it was "Herron Valley". It was where I had grade 7 and part of grade 8, around 1970. I always remember the oddity of the name spelling: I didn't see why it shouldn't be "Heron". Though in fairness there probably wasn't a heron for kilometres.

I took a co-worker here, what an embarrassment, the service was very slow, both our dishes combined looked like one portion. And to top it all off my co-workers pasta dish had some of my sausage in it.

Has also been demolished since, most likely to add room for the housing project. A new, full sized Tim Hortons has been built in a lot across the street to replace this one.

  • Interesting Modern Sculpture, Lil_Gish wrote 17 years ago:
This was one of my favorite places on the waterfront! The sculpture is a hollow concrete sphere sitting in its own shallow little lagoon. The strangest time to see it is in winter when huge flotillas of migrating arctic ducks congregate nearby. They dive for mussels, and their weird cries echo off the buildings and the nearly deserted piers.
